The German sculptor couple Wolfgang Kubach and Anna Maria Kubach-Wilmsen studied painting and sculpture at the Munich Academy of Arts (1959 to 1965).

From 1976 onwards they created the so-called “Stone Books” as their artistic form idea and consistently developed them further.

Awards

In 2014, the Kubach-Wilmsen team received the Ike and Berthold Roland Foundation Art Prize.
In 2017, Anna Kubach-Wilmsen received the Max Slevogt Medal.
