The German-French painter and graphic artist Hans Hartung was a key pioneer of the Informel movement.

Hartung’s non-representational art style combines a graphically perceived play of lines in black against clear, light painting backgrounds.

• The “Hartung Hall” has been in the State Gallery of Modern Art in Munich
• since 1982 and the “Hartung Room” in the Hessian State Museum in Darmstadt since 1984.
